Bikram Yoga Southside Glasgow

Die Besitzerin Linda sagt: „Our mission is to create and support a healthy vibrant yoga community by providing a clean, safe, friendly, professional environment with inspirational teaching and empowered leadership.“

When I planned my Glasgow trip last year, this studio hadn’t opened yet. Time for me to catch up!  All you might expect from a new modern studio is available here. As the name suggests, it is located to the South of the river Clyde. In a quarter full of small shops, pubs and gyms, the studio sticks out because it is really beautiful. It’s not huge, but the hotroom with 4 rows of mats is surprisingly spacy. The floor cover is hypoallergenic and offers protection against bacteria, mould and odour.
Usually the mirrors cover the front and one side wall – here the front and the back wall are covered with mirrors. Which offers amazing optical effects. An advanced heat exchange and ventilation system is installed to keep the room fully oxygenated throughout classes. Alas, the system is quite noisy. Beside the changing rooms there is an inviting corner where you can relax and have some tea after the workout.

Linda opened the studio last June. Her friend Fraz took part in the Teacher Training last autumn. Now he is teaching our Monday evening class. We are 30 yogis, including 6 men. Fraz makes us do the postures in a good humored, lively way, in the same way he gives helpful gestures. When he hears I am to go to Norwich in the South-West of England the following day he asks me to say his friends there hello. Once more: the Bikramyoga world is a small.
