Man merkt, dass das Balham-Studio nahe der gleichnamigen Untergrundstation im Süd-Westen Londons die gleiche Handschrift trägt wie die beiden anderen Studios London-Bridge und Fulham. Es ist auch offensichtlich, dass es kürzlich renoviert wurde. Es liegt malerisch in einem Innenhof. Die Logos sind dieselben, die Einrichtung, die Möbel. Carolyn Jikiemi-Roberts, welche bereits ein Studio in Brighton (Portslade) besitzt, hat es letzte Woche von Olga Allon gekauft. Sie sagt, sie habe bis jetzt noch nie in diesem Studio unterrichtet, beabsichtige aber, hier dann selbstverständlich auch selber Stunden zu geben. Die Logos werden verschwinden, da sie nicht mehr den Gegebenheiten entsprechen. Man darf gespannt sein, wie Carolyn ihr zweites Studio einrichten wird!

Sherene Skinner unterrichtet absolut souverän und treibt und an. Obwohl es für mich die zweite Klasse an diesem Tag ist, komme ich dank ihrer Art und ihrer Motivation und auch dank ihres Tempos gut mit.

It’s obvious: The Balham-Studio near the underground station with the same name in the south-west of London has the same corporate identity as the London Bridge and the Fulham studios. One notices also that there has been some redecoration recently. The studio’s surroundings are lovely, it’s placed in a courtyard. The logos are the same as in the other studios, as is the furniture and the styling.

Carolyn Jikiemi-Roberts, who is owner of the Portslade studio in Brighton bought this at the beginning of this year from Olga Allon. She says she didn’t teach herself in the studio before, but now she is going to teach here as often as in Brighton. The logos will have to be changed. I really would like to practice in this studio another time, preferrably with Carolyn who is a gifted teacher!

Sherene Skinner is teaching the afternoon-class. She is pushig us hard and is very motivating, and even though for me it’s todays second class, I can handle it – once more I see how important the role of the teacher for the performance of the class is.
