Bikramyoga Primrose Hill London

Die Gründerin sagt über ihr neuestes Studio: „I wanted to bring a sense of beauty, fun, tranquillity and individuality to the studio. I want people to feel instantly relaxed, welcomed and at ease to be themselves. Yoga is the opposite of suppression, it’s about release.”

Michele Pernetta, probably the most experienced Bikram Yoga teacher in the whole UK, has not only founded the already described studios North, West, City but recently the new Primrose Hill, too. It is no only the newest it’s without doubt the nicest of them. The tickets which are valid among the former ones are not accepted here. I was curious to see the new place – and I wasn’t disappointed at all. The logo shows a green hill and the name, Primrose. From this nearby hill one has a nice view towards the London skyline.

The studio is in the former ticket counter of the Primrose Hill Village pedestrian bridge. It is odd shaped and the wooden floor are easy to clean. The interior combines old and new. The ceiling sports big fans and all kinds of lamps. There are no mirrors of the side walls but windows that can be opened. The air-con system is elaborate. It adds oxygen if wanted and controls the humidity of the air. Both very agreeable features.

Irritating was the fact that at least ten yogis came in late and not only disturbed the lesson but those who had been in in time had give way to accommodate them.
I guess this nuisance won’t stop unless the teachers simply lock the doors as soon the lesson has started.

The foundress said about her newest child: “I wanted to bring a sense of beauty, fun, tranquillity and individuality to the studio. I want people to feel instantly relaxed, welcomed and at ease to be themselves. Yoga is the opposite of suppression, it’s about release.” Fair enough – but it was hot and exhausting, anyway. There is a good reason they offer cheap prices for beginners. The faster they start, the faster they get used to the heat – and to what Bikramyoga can do for them.

All in all, I am quite happy to have chosen those four studios out of certainly a dozen only in London. The newest of them seems to be the one in the Canary Wharf financial district. Others are spread all around the city. English people seem to go for Bikramyoga, the lessons usually are crammed.
