„The experience changes you“


Christopher (Chris) Coleman unterrichtet hauptsächlich in Zürich sowie ab und zu in Luzern. Er ist ein sportlicher, athletischer Typ. 30 Jahre lang hat er Eishockey gespielt und er liebt Krafttraining. Er sagt über Bikramyoga, dass dieses helfe, Sportverletzungen zu vermeiden. Denn die genau auf die einzelnen Gruppen abgezielten Übungen verhindern eine Überbeanspruchung der Muskeln, ist er überzeugt.

Er traf seine Frau, die selber eine Bikramyoga-Lehrerin ist in den USA und begann dann, ebenfalls Bikramyoga zu praktizieren. Er zog daraufhin nach Mexiko City, wo er täglich üben und sich so fürs Teacher-Training vorbereiten konnte. „In Mexico City they pushed hard and expected 100 percent effort everytime“, sagt er, der in einer ruhigen, konzentrierten Art unterrichtet. Und: „The experience changes you, you are slightly different and life continues.“

Christopher (Chris) Coleman is mainly teaching in Zurich, as well as in Lucerne from time to time. He’s a sportive, athletic guy, has been playing ice hockey for 30 years and loves weight training. He says that Bikram Yoga is helpful in avoiding sporting injuries, because of the exercises, which specifically focuse on different groups of joints and muscles in the body. That’s his conviction.

He met his wife, who is a Bikram Yoga teacher, too, in the USA and started to participate in this form of Yoga after that. Later, he moved to Mexico City, where he was able to practice daily and get ready for the teacher training. “In Mexico City, they pushed hard and expected 100 percent effort every time”. Chris – who teaches in a calm, focused manner – remembers his time back there. He adds: “The experience changes you. You’re slightly different and life continues.”
