Hot-Yoga-Box Dornbirn

The very first Hot yoga studio in Vorarlberg is located in Dornbirn. The studio is only some 1,2 kilometres from the railwaystation. The town busses even stop just in front of the studio and there is enough parcing space too. Hannah Rinnhofer opened the small, tastefull, cosy studio in 2016. She offers – together with up to 3 teachers – different styles of yoga: Modo inspired yoga in the to 36°C heated room, Modo Flow, Cool Basic for beginners, Relax/Yin, Mama-Baby-Yoga and yoga for pregnant women.

I am going to take part in a Modo-Yoga-class – the kind of yoga which comes closest to the Bikram yoga stile I am writing about in my blog. Modo-yoga was created back in 2004 by two former Bikram-yoga-teachers in Canada. Today, Modo-Yoga is quite widespread in North America. In Europe you can find Modo-classes in France, Sweden and Germany. And nowadays this one in Austria: it’s less hot than a 40-degree-Bikram-yoga class and shorter too (75 minutes instead of 90).

We are 16 people in the hot room: 14 women and two men, as usual, I am the oldest. But it’s fun! Hannah’s instructions are experienced, she compliments and – if necessary – corrects, she seems to be everywhere at the same time and she has a very agreable voice. Some of postures are exactly the same as in Bikramyoga. Others come from the absolut yoga stile (as I know them from the Yoga Corner in Schlieren). There are also some I didn’t see before, but I can guess what they are supposed to do, which muscels and joints are to be trained. You can be sure, at the end of the class you will feel the benefits. Would I live in Dornbirn, that’s for sure: this studio would be my place to practise!
